MOXsonic Travel and Accommodations
This page provides travel and accommodation information for attendees of the Missouri Experimental Sonic Arts Festival (MOXsonic) in Warrensburg, Missouri. Below you’ll find guidance on transportation, hotels, and local amenities to help plan your visit.
Getting to Warrensburg
Air Transportation
Kansas City International Airport (MCI) is the closest major airport, approximately 60 miles from Warrensburg. Note that St. Louis, Springfield, and Branson airports are significantly farther away and not recommended.
Ground Transportation
We strongly recommend renting a car at the airport. While car services to Warrensburg are available, rental cars are typically more affordable and give you greater flexibility during your visit.
Important: Warrensburg has limited rideshare services (Lyft/Uber availability is inconsistent). If you need local transportation without a rental car, Warrensburg Taxi offers limited service with advance booking: warrensburgtaxi.com
Alternative: AMTRAK
AMTRAK runs twice daily between Kansas City and Warrensburg. Note that the Kansas City station is located downtown, not at the airport.
Campus Location
Festival events take place on the University of Central Missouri campus in Warrensburg.
Hotels and Accommodations
Warrensburg has limited hotel availability, and rooms book quickly during university events. We strongly encourage you to reserve early. Many hotels allow free cancellation, so booking ahead is low-risk.
