Sean Russell Hallowell is a musician and composer living in San Francisco. Building on musique concrète and Medieval polyphony in due proportion, he makes electroacoustic, acousmatic, and audiovisual music that elaborates the potential energy within sounds and sound-making devices. His works have been featured at such events as the CIRCULATIONS Festival (University of Chicago), the Convergence Festival (De Montfort University), the Open Circuit Festival (University of Liverpool), the Charlotte New Music Festival, and the annual meeting of the Society for Electro-Acoustic Music in the United States. He holds music degrees from Brown University (AB) and Columbia University (PhD). He now holds a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Stanford University.
